Microsoft Edge comes pre-installed on almost every Windows laptop, so a lot of job seekers already do their LinkedIn search in Edge. The good news: you don't need to switch to Chrome to automate LinkedIn Easy Apply. Edge is built on the same engine as Chrome (Chromium), so the AutoApply CV LinkedIn Copilot runs in Edge exactly as it does in Chrome.
What a good LinkedIn auto apply extension should do
- Apply only where you fit: filters for job title, experience level, location and date posted, so it doesn't spray every listing.
- Fill screening questions from saved answers: notice period, salary, visa, work authorization and years of experience, answered once and reused.
- Skip what you don't want: exclude words in the job title (for example "Intern" or "Unpaid"), and tell you which word caused each skip.
- Never apply twice: duplicate detection across runs.
- Let you watch first: a dry-run mode that fills forms without submitting, before you turn on live submit.
- Show results: applied vs skipped jobs, with reasons, in one dashboard.
AutoApply CV does all six, and it never asks for your LinkedIn password: it works inside the LinkedIn tab you're already signed in to.
How to install it in Microsoft Edge
- In Edge, open the AutoApply CV listing on the Chrome Web Store.
- Edge shows a banner: "You can now add extensions from the Chrome Web Store to Microsoft Edge". Click Allow extensions from other stores, then Allow.
- Click Add to Chrome (it installs into Edge), then Add extension.
- Click the puzzle icon in Edge's toolbar and pin AutoApply CV so it's one click away.
- Sign in at autoapplycv.in, upload your resume, and open LinkedIn Jobs. Press Start in the extension.
We've also submitted AutoApply CV to Microsoft's own Edge Add-ons store. Until that listing is live, the Chrome Web Store version above is the one to install, and it is the same extension.
Edge features that help during a job search
- Sleeping tabs: Edge puts background tabs to sleep, which helps when you keep LinkedIn, your resume and a dozen job posts open.
- Vertical tabs: easier to scan many job tabs at once.
- Copilot in the sidebar: handy for quick help with a cover letter or a company summary, next to the job post.
